UCA Foundation year leavers show may 2019

For my final major project of my foundation year at UCA I made my first animation, a short film called “Hooked”. The animation questions the increasing impact and role mobile phones have on our daily lives. Alongside the animation I wrote a manifest to warn against mobile phones, designed protest posters and invented a “ mobile craft box” for people to keep in their pockets to offer an alternative to fill empty minutes (instead of browsing on their phones). Furthermore I designed a safety sticker which in my opinion should be put on every mobile phone box prior to their sale to alert people to the health and safety risks phones do pose for us. Together with this safety sticker I designed and wrote a safety leaflet, which similar to leaflets found in medication boxes, outlines the way how mobile phones should be used to prevent health risks.

Open school east open day may 2020

During the OSE Open Day I was given the opportunity to exhibit my latest sculpture (“DAUGHTER’S Perfection Pro Series”) which I had made combining my sculpturing skills together with ARDUINO technology to enable my sculpture to move. Once in action it looks as if the puppet is stirring in the Barbie doll’s brain with a spoon…..

Now Digital/ margate art Festival, 18th - 27th October 2019

As part of the Margate Art Festival I presented two of my sculptures in the Digital Now! exhibition. One was the previously mentioned sculpture “DAUGHTER’S Perfection Pro Series” (2019), the other was a sculpture I had built into a cooker (“Hob of Perceived Realities, 2017, 2019). Again I had used Arduino technology in order to animate it: a little figure on top of the cooker is vigorously hoovering the frying pan.
